And that's not a body of lies. And that I obviously do know what I am doing. ;)

And speaking of body of lies; I received this in the email today with regards to body statistics:-

It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.
One human hair can support 3 kg (6 lb).
The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.
Human thighbones are stronger than concrete.
A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.
There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.
Women blink twice as often as men.
The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain.
Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.
If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.
Women reading this will be finished now.

Men who read this are probably still busy checking their thumbs.

Francis Hohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02200444692590635615noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36978204.post-48167168163079175652008-11-16T17:58:00.007+08:002008-11-16T18:31:37.390+08:00Dead or Alive
Flower buds (like the one above in our garden) takes time to blossom. So does indexing of one's website by Google. But there are steps one can take to help speed this process up a little.

The page rank and the indexing of this old inactive blog has "fallen off" the radar of Google's indexing in their last page ranking exercise and it is now back to zero! Which though unfortunate, if I cared about the PR and I'm not as this blog is not monetized; gives me an opportunity to try to see how fast I can get it indexed again. And why is it so important to get your web site and pages indexed? If not then you'll never be found! So I'd started to make some comments on other blogs to get some backlinks and also submitted to a few free "engines".

To help my fellow classmates along (who would be treading the same path soon enough with their new websites or blogs) I have included one of them on the right sidebar (click on the Free Web Submission button) for their convenient usage. And since Google loves fresh content (everything fresh is nice lah!) updating your blog or website often with fresh contents helps. That's what I am doing here. So let's see if I can resuscitate this dead old blog back to life!

Trust this is of some help

BTW - The use of the title of this post - "Dead or Alive" is according to WordTracker (free version) is a keyword with over a thousand searches a day. It's one of the most beautiful places that I'd visited and with over 300 islands set in crystal clear waters with palm fringed white sandy beaches, lagoons, coral reefs and idyllic places to stay - I think it justify the description of 'paradise'.

As you can imagine, I'd taken lots of photos on this trip; however this of the Fijian sunset taken from a boat on my last day there is my favourite and it goes with my still dreamy mood of Fiji. And now I have switched to using WordPress since 1st January 2008. And this also mean that this blog www.fh2o.blogspot.com where I first started is now more than 2 years old. But of course all the old posts have emigrated!

So should I put this blog out to pastures? Or should I revive/reinvent/re-brand/recycle? And why not as it opens up new possibilities for whatever creative ideas I may come up with for this blog. Its easy to get into a rut but at the same time its also easy to take things that we're used to for granted.

But for now, I think I'll keep this old blog loiter for a bit longer. So stay tuned as things could get interesting! Actually Robin helped me to get it quite cheaply from Singapore (it was not available in Kuching) as it was on sale at the time as it was an old model. I got it primarily for my kayaking trip as it is light, compact (no protruding lens), reliable and most importantly it was water resistant.

Anyway I'm very happy with the camera and results I got from it and you can read a review of it here; but if you're thinking of getting one now, I don't think it is in production anymore. I recommend getting one if you can still get hold of it as it has served me very well. Using cheap SD card for storage and easily available AA batteries, it's therefore very convenient. I must have taken thousands of photos with it on my kayaking trip and it has not let me down despite being dropped and submerged underwater on various occasions.

I love this cute little camera despite its poor zoom, weak flash, tiny LCD screen and poor performance in dim lighting conditions. But once you know the limitations, you can work around it and still come up with great photos. Actually I'd been meaning to write about it for quite a while now but somehow some other ideas would come up when I sit down to blog about it. So here it's my long over-due tribute to my cute little toy camera - the Pentax Optio43WR.Francis Hohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02200444692590635615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36978204.post-69015019425456093172007-10-22T19:19:00.000+08:002008-01-19T19:22:42.138+08:00Spontaneous On The Waters
Beautiful Sungai Abang @ Borneo Highlands, 26th October 2007

Photography is all about capturing the moment and the best photos are spontaneous grab shots. And here are some grab shots that Azmi took and which I cropped of a group of 6 tourists he took out to enjoy the beautiful waters on Sg Sarawak Kiri in Borneo Highlands yesterday. And I love the dynamic composition and the contrast between these two shots of tranquil and moving waters. Ouch!

My children are more imaginative saying that a giant spider had descended to nest there! I can probably live with this 'spider' as it's on the passenger side of the car as I can imagine the replacement of the windscreen would be quite a bothersome and costly affair.

I trust that such stars or spiders do not take a liking to your car windscreens! And unfortunately if they do, I trust that you'll take it in a positively imaginative manner.
